What will you do?
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer and the overall supervision of the Head of Garowe Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: Support to implementation and management of Climate-Smart Food Systems projects and related activities, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures. Provide specialized project management support to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures Act as a focal point for intervention proposals from cooperating partners (CPs). Prepare a range of reports and highlight trends ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control. Ensure timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work and consistency of information presented to stakeholders. Coordinate beneficiary data management platform (SCOPE) to facilitate assistance to beneficiaries. Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation, and monitoring of ongoing programme activities Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders to perform accurate food security analyses and to ensure efficient delivery of food assistance related activities. Coordinate and liaise with stakeholders on identification of innovative programmes and delivery strategies including developing action plans with partners and communities. Support and facilitate, and coordinate capacity building initiatives for staff and government entities to strengthen skills and competencies to deliver quality Climate-Smart Food Systems project activities and desired results. Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems. Identify and strengthen Food Systems programmatic partnerships with relevant Puntland Ministries and stakeholders to improve effective delivery of WFP projects. Perfom any other duty as required.
Do you meet the minimum requirements?
Education: Completion of Secondary School Education. A post-secondary school certificate in the following fields is desirable: Agriculture, Agribusiness, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, or any other field relevant to international development assistance
Experience:
- Six and above years of experience in climate-smart, disaster risk reduction and resilience programmes designing, implementation and monitoring, and coordination with government and development actors
- Proven experience and ability to work under pressure and independently on technical matters with minimum supervision
- Experience in safety nets programming is desirable
- Knowledge and experience of the use of beneficiary data management systems like WFP’s SCOPE is desirable
- Understanding of cash-based programmes in humanitarian context
- Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somalia language is a requirement.
Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Somali required
