Organisational Setting and ReportingThis position is located in the Department of Operational Support/Division of Administration/Facilities and Commercial Activities/Archives and Records Management Section (ARMS). Under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned. The internship can be either full-time or part-time and is unpaid. Hours of work per week are flexible. - Establish best practices for data collection, preparation, and analysis,
- Review existing data sets to identify potential problems with accuracy or completeness of data,
- Research, identify, and test tools and resources to support analysis of various data sources
- Develop corporate visualization solutions derived from multiple data sources using state-of the-art tools to enable insight and decision-making at various levels,
- Build interactive dashboards and reports, using corporate analytics applications,
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner,
- Provide summary explanations to the Section on the latest tools and emerging trends in the above and other related areas.

Typically, our interns are pursuing studies in the following areas: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems / Technology, Economics, Machine Learning, Interactive Telecommunications, Data Visualization and Analytics, Web Analytics, Graphic Design, Web Design, User Interface Design, Human-computer Interaction, Digital Marketing or a relevant field.

LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the internship advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
