Position Title: Project Assistant

Context:
Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Programme Officer and in close coordination with Field Office Coordinator and the mission’s Project Implementation Teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of various tasks with the following duties and responsibilities: Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
- Assist in organizing of meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Facilitates information and provides referral services to IOM beneficiaries (potential migrants, returned migrants, stranded migrants, victims of trafficking, etc.,)
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of individually tailored reintegration plans for returned Georgian Nationals
- Carry out tasks using relevant SOPs, systems and databases (including MiMOSA);
- Assist in implementing/applying the mission’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools to improve results measurement and enhance the impact and efficiency of projects in the respective thematic area(s).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma with at least four years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution, with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organizational, planning and coordination skills.
Languages
- Fluency in English and Georgian, both written and spoken is required.
- Working knowledge of other UN Official Language(s) would be an advantage.
